Description
Why use menstrual discs?
Revolutionary menstrual discs provide a healthy, safe and comfortable way to collect menstrual flow. The menstrual disc arrives as an alternative to the menstrual cup, and sits comfortably at the base of your cervix.
They are reusable, made of medical-grade silicone as thin as a flower petal, BPA-free, toxin-free and vegan.
Benefits and advantages of the menstrual disc
With menstrual discs, say goodbye to the discomfort of disposable products during your period. The menstrual disc offers benefits you don’t want to miss:
- You can maintain sexual intercourse while wearing the menstrual disc, because it sits at the base of the cervix and does not create a seal. It must be made clear that the menstrual disc is NOT a contraceptive method nor does it protect against STIs.
- Safe protection for approximately 8 hours.
- Does not cause dryness thanks to the material it is made from.
- It is reusable.
- A very economical option considering it can last up to 10 years.
- Comfortable, as its design perfectly adapts to the shape of your cervix, and you won’t notice you’re wearing it.
- 100% vegan product.
How to insert the menstrual disc
- Wash your hands with soap and water.
- Get into a comfortable position for you (standing with one leg raised, squatting, or sitting).
- Gently press the menstrual disc so the sides fold together.
- Insert the disc into the vagina and use your finger to push the rim upwards, behind the pubic bone.
- Once in place, the rim will unfold again. Ready to go safely through the day without leaks.
How to remove the menstrual disc
- Wash your hands with soap and water.
- Sit or squat, in a comfortable place to avoid spills.
- Insert your finger into the vagina, feel the rim of the menstrual disc and pull the edge slowly, keeping the disc horizontal to avoid spilling the contents.
You can also try using your pelvic floor muscles to help release the disc from behind the pubic bone. - Empty the contents of the menstrual disc wherever is most convenient, rinse it with clean water, and it’s ready to use again.
How to clean the menstrual disc
It is recommended to remove the menstrual disc from the body and clean it with water, at most every 12 hours during menstrual bleeding (depending on your menstrual flow, how long each period lasts, etc.).
It is necessary to sterilize the menstrual disc at least once between periods. It is recommended to do so before and/or after each cycle.
